WaffleLauncher
A privacy-first Firefox add-on that puts your favorite web apps one click away.
WaffleLauncher is a ground-up rewrite that replaces my earlier Google App Launcher fork.
It puts a clean, customizable 3×3 grid of web applications in the Firefox toolbar without tracking, telemetry, or external network requests.
While inspired by the classic Google app launcher button, WaffleLauncher shares none of the original code and expands beyond Google to support Proton services and AI tools alongside modern Firefox features.
Key features include:
- Customizable 3×3 grid supporting 60+ built-in apps across Google, Proton, and more (including Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Gemini, Proton Mail, Proton Pass, ChatGPT, and Claude).
- Drag-and-drop and full keyboard navigation/reordering directly inside the popup or settings preview.
- Smart tab opening option that reuses the current tab if it is a blank or new tab, plus middle-click and Ctrl/Cmd-click support to open multiple apps in background tabs.
- Automatic, Light, and Dark themes that match Firefox by default, including a theme-aware toolbar icon.
- Optional synchronization across devices via Firefox Sync.
- Strict privacy: zero data collection, bundled icons, no remote requests, and minimal permissions.
